Armand

During one fatal afternoon in an empty elementary school the two mothers of Armand (6) and Jon (6) get into a desperate fight to be believed when one son is accused of crossing boundaries against the other. All means are used, and soon a blend of madness, desire, and obsession arises. Where the truth lies is impossible to know, and soon everything evolves less and less around the children, whom we never meet, and more about the adults.DRAMA | 2024 | 116 MINORIGINAL TITLE Armand DIRECTOR Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel SCREENWRITER Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel PRODUCTION Andrea Berentsen Ottmar for Eye Eye CAST Renate Reinsve, Ellen Dorrit Petersen Thea Vaulen, Øystein Røger, Endre Hellestveit, Vera Veljovic DOMESTIC RELEASE Sep 27, 2024 SALES Charades FESTIVALS Norwegian Film Institute

Quisling - The Final Days

A psychological drama about the infamous Vidkun Quisling, Prime Minister of Norway, a notorious Nazi collaborator and responsible for one of the greatest betrayals during World War II. The film stars Gard B. Eidsvold (Beforeigners, 2022) and Anders Danielsen Lie (The Worst Person in the World, 2021) in the leading roles as Vidkun Quisling and the priest Peder Olsen respectively. With the story of Quisling’s last days, we get a condensed insight into a psychological and claustrophobic battle about truth and lies, faith and doubt. The Norwegian, Vidkun Quisling was so synonymous with helping the enemy that his name made it into English dictionaries. Deservedly so, as Quisling asked Hitler to occupy Norway and was functioning as Prime Minister of Norway when Hitler did just that. When the German occupation of Norway ended after five years, it was time for rebuilding and healing, but Quisling had to be held accountable for his war crimes.DRAMA | 2024 | 119 MINORIGINAL TITLE Quislings siste dager DIRECTOR Erik Poppe SCREENWRITERS Anna Bache-Wiig, Siv Rajendram Eliassen and Ravn Lanesskog PRODUCTION Finn Gjerdrum, Stein B. The Committee's Work

The Norwegian Oscar Committee, consisting of representatives from industry organizations, the Norwegian Film Critics' Association, and the Norwegian Film Institute, decides which film to submit to the Oscar Academy in the category of Best International Feature Film. The committee first narrows the field down to a shortlist of three films. Then, the producers and directors of the three films present their plans for a potential Oscar campaign to the committee, which subsequently decides which of the three films will represent Norway.

The decision will be announced on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM at a press conference at the Cinemateket, located at the Norwegian Film Institute in Oslo.
