Norsk filminstitutt

In the countryside, outside Oslo, we meet the lesbian dog Ronja and her owner Øyvind Sogn. Ronja is an eleven years old Irish Setter and she lives in a farm. Every day she runs across the field to visit here girlfriend Stella.

The film is inspired by a Norwegian exhibition on homosexuality among animals at The Oslo Natural History Museum. They say homosexuality has been observed among 1,500 species, and that in 500 of those it is well documented. The film and the exhibition hope to reject the all too well known argument that homosexual behaviour is a crime against nature.
