Mikkel Brænne Sandemose
Mikkel Brænne Sandemose, born 1974, started his film career as an animation assistant to his grandfather before moving on to film school and live action filmmaking.
Mikkel graduated from the directing program at the Film and Television Academy in 1998. Same year his first short film, I killed a Cyclist, travelled festivals in Europe. He debuted in 1999 as a music video director with a hit for the Norwegian artist Bertine Zetlitz , awarded video of the year. Since then Mikkel has directed hundreds of commercials in Norway and abroad. He has been shortlisted in Cannes for several commercials, won silver and bronze medals in the Norwegian commercial championship and received honourable mentions at several festivals for his short films and music videos. He debuted as a feature film director with Cold Prey 3 in October 2010.
Sandemose started off his film career by assisting his animator grandfather, before moving on to film school and live action filmmaking. Since then Mikkel has received several honourable mentions and awards for his short films, music videos and commercials. In 2010 he directed his first feature, the horror movie Cold Prey III. Sandemose’s most recent feature, the box-office hit Ragnarok (2013), is a family action adventure which explores the world of Viking mythology.
